Many Tanzanian enterprises are looking forward to seizing the opportunities in the Chinese market by participating in the sixth China International Import Expo, according to a promotional conference held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on local time May 15.

Suo Peng, minister counselor of the Chinese embassy in Tanzania, said that the CIIE has become a symbol for promoting an open world economy and economic globalization and that it is an excellent platform that allows Chinese consumers to know and develop an affinity for products from Tanzania.

Over the past five years, an increasing number of high-quality products from Tanzania have been showcased at the CIIE, said Song Shangzhe from the CIIE Bureau.

He noted that the expo is willing to provide more support and assistance to Tanzanian enterprises and products to enter the Chinese market.

Representatives from the Tanzanian government and business associations also recognized the important role that the CIIE plays in promoting economic and trade exchanges between China and Tanzania.

They added that they would encourage more enterprises to participate in the expo and are looking forward to fostering more business cooperation with Chinese companies.

In addition, representatives of Tanzanian enterprises expressed a strong interest in attending the CIIE, which they hope will allow them to gain a better understanding of the competitive advantages and export opportunities of Tanzanian products.

During the conference, the CIIE Bureau signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation, and the East Africa Commercial and Logistics Center.
