Rwanda aims to boost its international trade through 6th CIIE Release date: 2023-05-19    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

Rwanda is looking forward to boosting its international economic and trade development by participating in the upcoming sixth China International Import Expo, according to a promotional conference held in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, on local time May 17. 

Wang Xuekun, Chinese ambassador to Rwanda, said at the conference that the CIIE aims to encourage the participation of all parties in the Chinese market, facilitate the flow of products around the world, and enhance international trade cooperation.

He expressed hope that more enterprises would seize the opportunities provided by the CIIE.

Over the past five years, a large number of high-quality products from Rwanda have been showcased at the CIIE, said Song Shangzhe from the CIIE Bureau. 

He added that the expo is willing to provide more support and assistance to Rwandan enterprises and products to enter the Chinese market.

Nelly Mukazayire, deputy chief executive officer of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), stated at the conference that the CIIE has become an important platform to showcase Rwanda's distinctive products.

According to her, various specialty goods from Rwanda such as coffee, chili peppers, and avocados have entered the Chinese market through the expo. 

She added that the RDB will continue to encourage local companies to participate in the expo.
