A promotional event for the sixth China International Import Expo was held in Seoul, South Korea, on June 30, local time.

The event, aimed at attracting exhibitors from the country, was attended by more than 250 representatives from South Korean enterprises as well as Chinese and South Korean media outlets.

Xing Haiming, Chinese ambassador to South Korea, said that South Korean companies have achieved good results from showcasing their latest products and technologies in every edition of the expo. He noted that South Korea has become China's second largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching a record $362.3 billion in 2022.

Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, expressed hope that more South Korean companies will participate in the expo and seize opportunities in the Chinese market.

Moon Sung-ho, who is in charge of the professional laundry division of LG Electronics in China and Europe, highlighted the significance of the CIIE for the company in exploring the Chinese market. 

He said that China is the center of the global commercial laundry market as well as the center of LG's commercial laundry market. He hopes the company will further tap the Chinese market and expand its business types in the country through the CIIE.

According to him, LG Electronics will bring its world-class product and service solutions to this year’s expo.

During the event, Korea International Trade Association, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, LG Electronics, and Lotte Tour Development signed agreements with the CIIE Bureau.

Following the event, the CIIE work group visited the headquarters of Amorepacific, a South Korean beauty and cosmetic company. Both sides engaged in discussions regarding the sixth CIIE and signed a memorandum of cooperation.
