A promotional event for the sixth China International Import Expo was held in Istanbul, Turkiye, on local time July 12 to attract exhibitors from the country.

The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of Turkish business associations, enterprises, and media outlets.

Liu Shaobin, Chinese ambassador to Turkiye, said he hopes more high-quality Turkish goods will enter the Chinese market. 

China is Turkiye's third-largest global trading partner and the largest trading partner in Asia, Liu said, noting that the economic and trade relationship between China and Turkiye has been steadily developing in recent years.

He expressed hope that the two countries will deepen cooperation in traditional areas and further expand collaboration in new areas such as new energy vehicles, digital economy, and green development. 

Ning Feng, president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the venue for the annual CIIE, said that Turkiye is an important participant of the CIIE. 

Ning added that he is looking forward to seeing Turkiye promote its distinctive industries and cultural tourism resources at the expo's country exhibition, as well as high-quality products and premium services through the business exhibition.

Korhan Kurdoglu, chairman of the Turkiye-China Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkiye (DEiK), said the council will encourage more Turkish enterprises to strengthen collaboration, increase investments, and promote trade with Chinese enterprises through the CIIE.

During the event, four Turkish enterprises and organizations, including DEiK, signed memorandums of cooperation with the CIIE Bureau. 

In addition to the event, the CIIE work group also visited several local enterprises and associations to promote this year's expo. Three enterprises and associations signed memorandums of cooperation with the group.
