The 9th CIIE Promotion Conference & "Export to China" Thailand Special Event Held in Bangkok Release date: 2026-07-13 Source:中国国际进口博览会
On July 9, the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) Promotion Conference and "Export to China" Thailand Special Event kicked off in Bangkok, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, and the Chinese Embassy in Thailand. Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce of China, Zhang Jianwei, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, and Sunanta, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion under Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, delivered speeches respectively. Yang Jun, Vice President of Bank of China, Lin Chuqin, Chairman of Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and more than 200 representatives from Chinese and Thai industrial and commercial circles attended the event.

Core Remarks & CIIE Introduction
Yan Dong stated that China has remained Thailand’s largest trading partner for 13 consecutive years, while Thailand stands as a key ASEAN trading partner of China. Thai tropical fruits, aquatic products and other goods enjoy strong popularity in the Chinese market. 2026 marks the launch year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. The CIIE will coordinate with the series of "Export to China" events to boost imports on a larger scale and share new opportunities from China’s development with all countries worldwide. Thailand is one of the featured countries for the 2026 "Export to China" campaign. All Thai enterprises are warmly invited to take part in the 9th CIIE, connect with Chinese partners, elevate China-Thailand relations to new heights, and fuel regional economic and trade cooperation.
Xiao Lu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, CIIE Bureau, delivered a special presentation on the 9th CIIE. She shared inspiring CIIE success stories of win-win bilateral cooperation: Thai durian industries expanded their sales channels to China via the CIIE, and Thai wellness & aromatherapy brands debuted in mainland China and opened physical stores with the support of the Expo platform.

During the stay in Thailand, the CIIE working group held meetings with multiple institutions and enterprises, including the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Department of International Trade Promotion under Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Asian International Trade & Investment Chamber of Commerce, TCC Group, as well as Bank of China (Thailand Branch) and other partners. The team strived to expand overseas exhibition recruitment and investment cooperation networks and deepen practical collaboration.
The working group signed exhibition participation contracts with Putawan and Herb Oil aromatherapy brand, and memorandums of understanding on cooperation with institutions including the Asian International Trade & Investment Chamber of Commerce.
