On February 5, a promotion session for the ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam. Li Guoqing, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, held talks with representatives from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Hanoi Branch, and local enterprises. This session aimed to encourage more Vietnamese companies to participate in the CIIE.

Li Zhenmin, economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, said that China and Vietnam are friendly socialist neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, with bilateral relations having made remarkable progress in recent years. He expressed hope that both sides will continue to make full use of the high-quality platform provided by the CIIE, deepen mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation, and elevate China-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations to a new level.

Bui Quang Hung, deputy director-general of Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, noted that China is Vietnam's second-largest export market, and Vietnamese agricultural and food enterprises hope to further expand their market share in China through the CIIE. Participating in the CIIE has brought tangible benefits to Vietnamese companies. Vietnam will expand its exhibition scale and bring more quality products to the ninth CIIE this year.

Li Guoqing pointed out that hosting the CIIE is a major decision of China to advance a new round of high-level opening-up and a significant initiative to open its market to the world. Taking part in the CIIE is a strategic choice to share global development opportunities. The CIIE will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese government and relevant agencies to support more Vietnamese exhibitors.

Pang Liang, deputy general manager of ICBC Hanoi Branch, said that as a comprehensive partner of the CIIE, ICBC has long been deeply engaged in various aspects of the expo. It will continue to provide better financial services for exhibitors and play an active role in building a bridge for exchanges between China and Vietnam.
