On November 5, the Parallel Session on Industrial Internet Enables Manufacturing Industry to Achieve High-quality Development of the 5th Hongqiao International Economic Forum (Hongqiao Forum) was held in Shanghai. The forum was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Anhui Provincial People’s Government, jointly organized by the China Academy of Industrial Internet, the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Anhui Province and the Anhui Communications Administration, and co-organized by the Anhui Branch of the China Academy of Industrial Internet.

Zhang Yunming, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out in his speech that in recent years, China has accelerated its systematic development and achieved a series of milestones and landmark results in the industrial Internet. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will adhere to the theme of promoting high-quality development, continue to enhance the technical support capacity, increase the level of integration and application, enhance the level of open cooperation, improve the market-oriented, law-based and international business environment, deepen international cooperation in the fields of technology, standards, applications, and intellectual property rights, and strive to create a new situation in the development of industrial Internet.

In a video message, Zou Zhenyong, Executive Director of UNIDO, said that China’s accelerated implementation of its industrial Internet innovation and development strategy has increased the resilience of enterprises and created quality jobs. However, there are immense differences in the digital transformation between developed and developing countries, large enterprises and small companies, and governments need to accelerate the introduction of policies, and UNIDO is ready to work with the international community to promote technological innovation and application of the Industrial Internet.

Li Peigen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech entitled Industrial Internet for High-quality Development of Manufacturing Industry. Pan Jiaofeng, President of the Institute of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a keynote speech entitled Technological Innovation, Digital Intelligence, Green and Low-Carbon Development for the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry. Lu Chuncong, President of China Academy of Industrial Internet, delivered a keynote speech entitled Promoting the High-quality Development of Industrial Internet.

The parallel session was moderated by He Qing, host of Shanghai Media Group’s Integrated Media Center, and Li Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Academy of Industrial Internet.
