A promotional event for the green and intelligent home appliances and furnishings subsection of the seventh China International Import Expo was held at the headquarters of Red Star Macalline, a Chinese home furniture retailer, in Shanghai on March 27.

Representatives from nine members of the green and intelligent home appliances and furnishings special committee of the CIIE Enterprise Alliance, including Panasonic, Ikea, and BWT, and nearly 100 international brands in the industry attended the event.

At the event, Li Guoqing, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, highlighted the important role of the CIIE in expanding openness, improving supply, and promoting consumption. He mentioned that over the past six years, more than 10,000 foreign companies have participated in the CIIE, introducing over 2,400 representative new products, technologies, and services to help with China's industrial transformation and upgrade and realize the people's aspirations for a better life.

Zhu Jiagui, executive president of Red Star Macalline Home Furnishing Group and general manager of its large operations center, said that an increasing number of international home furnishing and electrical appliance brands are hoping to tap into the Chinese market through the platform of the CIIE.

He added that Red Star Macalline will continue to leverage its advantages to assist more international brands in participating in the CIIE and draw more developmental strength from the expo.

During the event, several CIIE exhibitors shared their stories with the expo. Cindy Ruan, vice-president of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs of Ikea China, reviewed the close cooperation between Ikea and the CIIE over the past six years, appreciating the expanding spillover effects and influence of the top-tier platform.

The event also provided detailed updates on the preparations, participation, promotion, and other related aspects of the seventh CIIE.

During the event, Red Star Macalline Home Furnishing Group signed an agreement to become a CIIE partner in terms of exhibitor recruitment. Osim and Fabulous International signed up to be exhibitors at the seventh CIIE.
