The 3rd International Promotion Conference on Food and Agricultural Products Trade Facilitation was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Nov 7.

The conference, focusing on the high-quality development of global agricultural products, was intended to support China's transformation into an efficient, competitive international trade hub for agricultural and food products. It sought to benefit producers, traders, and consumers alike. Representatives from the Agricultural Products Special Committee of the CIIE Enterprise Alliance, including Cargill, Louis Dreyfus Company, PepsiCo, and Nestle, attended the event.

Li Guoqing, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, highlighted the significance of agricultural trade as a vital part of international commerce. He stated that the CIIE is dedicated to offering opportunities and building a platform for premium agricultural products from around the world to access China’s expansive market.

According to Li, the policy briefing on trade facilitation organized by the Agricultural Products Special Committee of the CIIE Enterprise Alliance was aimed at promoting agricultural globalization, leveraging complementary resource advantages, and encouraging closer collaboration among agricultural enterprises to address issues related to product quality and safety. It was also intended to enhance the ease of trade and investment in agricultural products.

During the event, the China Customs Brokers Association released the analysis report on the 2024 list of access sources for imported agricultural and food products in China and 2024 report on industrial chain and supply chain of import and export food.
