A seminar addressing the development of the beauty industry convened at the Oriental Beauty Valley in Shanghai on Aug 28.

Co-organized by the China International Import Expo (CIIE) Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the seminar was part of the events for the Daily Chemical Consumer Goods Special Committee of the CIIE Enterprise Alliance.

The seminar featured two roundtable discussions focusing on new consumer trends driven by innovation and the integration of beauty and cosmetics in various sectors. Representatives from seven special committee members, including L'Oreal, Shiseido, and Unilever, and representatives from companies like Fancl, shared insights and experiences based on their respective practices and success stories.

Ning Feng, president of the NECC (Shanghai), delivered a speech in which he underscored the close association between the Consumer Goods Exhibition Area and daily life, specifically emphasizing the significant role of beauty and cosmetics.

He noted that in the upcoming 7th CIIE, the beauty and cosmetics section will expand its focus beyond personal beauty to encompass family beauty, beauty for mothers and infants, women's beauty, and innovative beauty technologies.

Ning also expressed optimism that exhibitors would leverage the CIIE to acquire deeper insights and understanding of the Chinese market and capitalize on the opportunities arising from its openness to foster comprehensive development.

As the 7th CIIE approaches, there is anticipation for more high-quality enterprises to participate, seize industry trends, and drive resource sharing and complementarity towards mutual benefits.
