The event featured a series of activities including a roundtable for foreign enterprises, meetings between government officials and business representatives, investment promotion meetings, and field trips.

Focusing on Chongqing's key sectors, such as digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, automobile, and biomedicine, the event also invited over 160 foreign businesses and investment promotion agencies to participate, including 81 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders.

Tang Wenhong, assistant minister of commerce, said in his speech that MOFCOM is committed to fostering a market-oriented, law-based and world-class business environment. The ministry is also aiming to strengthen services and support for foreign investors and better utilize foreign investment to foster new quality productive forces, He added.

Noting that Chongqing has been leveraging the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the China-Europe Railway Express in recent years to expedite its openness, Tang said that MOFCOM will serve as an intermediary to ensure more efficient resource matchmaking and promote win-win cooperation between Chongqing and its business partners.

During the field trips, representatives from foreign companies were organized to visit various districts in the city. This provided them with an in-depth understanding of the local industrial layout and an opportunity to exchange investment experiences.
