A celebration conference for the sixth China International Import Expo was held by the Chinese Consulate-General in Vancouver, Canada on Jan 18.
About 40 representatives from enterprises and exhibition organizers in British Columbia, Canada, which participated in the sixth CIIE, attended the event and exchanged experiences.
Representatives highlighted that the CIIE has provided a platform for communication and cooperation and enabled participating companies to seize development opportunities.
Yang Shu, the consul general of China in Vancouver, said at the event that the CIIE represents a significant measure by China to proactively open its markets to the world and showcases the vitality of the Chinese economy.
Yang noted that China's GDP surpassed 126 trillion yuan ($17.5 trillion) in 2023, along with strong appeal for foreign investment and a record high in the total volume of goods trade.
He hopes the CIIE participants will continue to engage in China's development and share the opportunities it presents.
