Denmark is among the top 15 countries in terms of its participation in the CIIE, said Ning Feng, president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), in his address, adding that Danish companies such as Novo Nordisk, Arla Foods, and Lego have attended every edition of the expo since 2018.

Ning also highlighted that the CIIE has been held for seven consecutive years, attracting over 10,000 companies from over 180 countries and regions and leading to tangible results.

Yang Junping, counselor at the Chinese embassy in Denmark, pointed out that as this year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Denmark diplomatic relations, both countries aim to expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

He encouraged Danish companies to utilize the 8th CIIE as a platform to introduce more distinctive products, advanced technologies, and quality services to both the Chinese and global markets.

Peter Thagesen, head of geopolitics at DI, emphasized the importance of the Chinese market for Danish businesses and expressed optimism about collaborating with more Danish companies at the 8th CIIE.

According to Thagesen, DI has arranged for Danish food companies to participate in the CIIE every year since it began. Last year, DI also launched the Danish Health and Life Sciences Pavilion at the 7th CIIE.

Ole Hammer, director of Denmark government and public affairs at Lego Group, stated that China is a key market for Lego, and the CIIE serves as a vital platform for the business in expanding its international presence.

Hammer said that after seven consecutive years of participating in the CIIE, Lego has no desire to break its streak this year. It looks forward to showcasing even more innovative products at the 8th CIIE.

During their visit to Denmark, the CIIE working team also held discussions with three energy and environmental technology companies—Danfoss, Alfa Laval (Nordic), and Aquaporin. All three companies agreed that China's commitment to green development presents significant market opportunities. They expressed their intent to participate in the 8th CIIE, with Danfoss and Aquaporin signing participation agreements on-site. Alfa Laval already renewed its participation agreement for the 8th CIIE during last year's 7th CIIE.
