CIIE Story • Celebrating 10th Anniversary of BRI | Century-old Estonian company gains vitality from CIIE Release date: 2023-10-18    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

Mayeri Industries, the largest manufacturer of washing and cleaning products in the Baltic countries of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, participated in the first China International Import Expo in 2018 upon invitation from the Estonia's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. With 134 years of history, the company has found new vitality at the CIIE.

It was the CIIE that gave Mayeri the confidence to expand into the Chinese market. Previously, the company's products were mainly sold to European countries. Chinese consumers had limited knowledge about Estonia, and knew even less about Mayeri.

However, when Mayeri was at the first edition of CIIE, not only did its exhibited products receive a warm welcome, but they also formed partnerships with many companies. Mayeri's presence filled a gap in the Chinese market for hypoallergenic products, thus attracting distributors, retailers, and agents from all over the country.

After its first participation, Mayeri successfully established its own "circle of friends" in the Chinese market and achieved a breakthrough in sales.

Based on the consumption habits and characteristics of the Chinese consumers, Mayeri's Tmall International flagship store was also officially launched after the CIIE. This has gained Mayeri a group of loyal customers in China.

Estonia is an important partner for China in the Baltic and European region. With the opportunity for communication and cooperation provided by the CIIE, Mayeri, with its EU Ecolabel, not only promotes the attention to green and environmental protection in the production process but also gains ideas for its own innovation from the huge Chinese market.

Mayeri is looking forward to participating in the upcoming sixth CIIE again. "The CIIE brings us endless inspiration and serves as a guide for our entry into the Chinese market. This year, we are bringing a kind of dishwashing liquid that, compared to mainstream dishwashing products on the market, has more comprehensive functions without any residue," said the company. "We look forward to receiving feedback from Chinese consumers, which will provide us with a direction for our future development."
