The first batch of exhibits to be displayed at the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE) were shipped to Shanghai from the Port of Hamburg in Germany on September 8, Knews reported Sunday.

The ship will travel along the route of the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road and is expected to arrive on October 9. Exhibits will be sent to the exhibition hall after a customs clearance is completed.

The products were manufactured by a time-honored family company located in the southern part of Germany, which covers many fields including automobile, aerospace, construction and shipping. The company plays a leading role in Germany's manufacturing industry.

The shipping is being handled by COSCO SHIPPING, a Shanghai-based company. The company also set up a logistic service team and an online platform to support CIIE.
