An event to attract Hong Kong companies to the fifth China International Import Expo was recently held online.

Fifty-five enterprises from the region attended the meeting and watched presentations about the food and agricultural products and trade in services exhibition areas of the fifth CIIE, which will take place in Shanghai this November.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council is responsible for organizing companies to attend the expo this year. The council also invited two Hong Kong companies, Prince Food (Holdings) Limited and Hoopla Limited, that participated in the fourth edition to share their experiences at the meeting.

According to representatives of the two companies, the CIIE has helped them explore business opportunities in the Chinese mainland and make connections with many purchasers and local governments.

Shanghai Oujian Network Development Group, a purchaser of the Shanghai trade mission, also attended the meeting. The company had secured deals worth a combined $1.4 billion over the past four editions of the CIIE.
