A promotion conference for the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Iceland, with over 30 attendees, including the principals of ministries and business organizations such as the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Icelandic Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, the Icelandic Ministry of Industries and Innovation, the Fisheries Iceland, the Icelandic-Chinese Trade Council, and the Iceland Chamber of Commerce, as well as enterprise representatives engaged in the industries of geothermal development, tourism, catering and cosmetics.

Chen Guisheng, Head of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Iceland, introduced the CIIE’s information related to the background, significance, major arrangements, facilitation measures and global applications for participation. He hopes that enterprises in Iceland can take advantage of the CIIE—a big platform—to display Icelandic products and services.
