Promotion Event for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) Successfully Held in Astana Release date: 2026-06-11    Source:中国国际进口博览会

On June 8, the promotion event for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), held concurrently with the "Big Market for All: Export to China" Kazakhstan thematic event, was successfully convened in Astana. Approximately 60 representatives from Kazakhstani enterprises and institutions attended the event.

Remarks by Han Chunlin, Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Han Chunlin stated that China and Kazakhstan are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China–Kazakhstan relations have operated at a high level, and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation has delivered fruitful outcomes. He expressed the hope that Kazakhstani institutions and enterprises will actively leverage the CIIE platform and its resource-convergence advantages to forge closer partnerships with Chinese counterparts, so as to grow the pie of China–Kazakhstan trade and economic cooperation together.

Remarks by Zhaner Kushukova, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

Vice Minister Kushukova noted that Kazakhstan attaches high importance to export cooperation with China, and that the CIIE has built a vital bridge for Kazakhstan–China trade and economic cooperation. Numerous Kazakhstani enterprises have found Chinese partners at previous editions of the CIIE and reaped strong results. Kazakhstan will continue to actively organize enterprises and institutions to participate in the 9th CIIE.

Remarks by Chang Hui, Second-Level Inspector of the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.

Chang Hui stated that, under the "Export to China" series of activities, over 100 trade promotion events are planned for this year, providing platforms and bridges for enterprises from all countries—including Kazakhstan—to expand exports to China.

Remarks by Xiao Lu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, CIIE Bureau.

Xiao Lu noted that Kazakhstan has twice served as a Guest Country of Honor at the CIIE, and its products—such as honey, flour, edible oils, camel milk powder, and beef and mutton products—are highly popular with Chinese buyers and consumers alike. This year, the 9th CIIE will be closely linked with the "Export to China" campaign, creating greater market opportunities in China and a more favorable export environment for all participating countries. The Bureau also plans to explore the establishment of overseas national brand display zones and other measures, so as to offer additional benefits and higher-profile exposure to Guest Countries of Honor and to Kazakhstan as a designated "Export to China" Theme Country.

This event was held as part of the "Big Market for All: Export to China" flagship series. It was co-hosted by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce of China, and the China International Import Expo Bureau (CIIE Bureau). The event was organized by Qtrip LLP, with support from the Trade Policy Development Center JSC "QazTrade" and Bank of China (Kazakhstan). During the promotion event, QazTrade and the CIIE Bureau formally signed the participation contract for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
