We Will Send Enterprises to the Import Expo, Says the Commerce Secretary of Pakistan Release date: 2018-03-30

Thumbs up from the World’s Politicians and Celebrities for China International Import Expo(CIIE).

On January 23, 2018, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce jointly held a press conference for the China International Import Expo. After the meeting, Younus Dagha, Commerce Secretary of Pakistan, was interviewed by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan as follows.

“The Pakistani people are eagerly looking forward to the China International Import Expo! We promise to send a large number of Pakistani companies to this expo. Holding an import expo is a good move. Many exporters and industries in Pakistan are full of high expectations. We will definitely encourage them to participate in the expo!”

China and Pakistan enjoy a long history of friendly cooperation.

“Pakistan and China are friendly countries. China experiences great changes with each passing day. We are very pleased with the friendly and cooperative relations established between China and Pakistan over a long period of time. I believe that the import expo will provide good opportunities for Pakistan's advantageous products and industries to enter the Chinese market. We are actively organizing and encouraging domestic companies and businessmen to attend the expo. We are also informed that China has large-scale import plans for the coming years. I believe Pakistan will use this opportunity to promote high-quality products in the Chinese market. Also, we have great expectations for this historic opportunity with the continuous advancement of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.”

Pakistan will prioritize the textile and leather industries.

“Pakistan’s textile and leather industries have a long history. We will focus on promoting these two advantageous industries in the Chinese market. China’s middle class is constantly expanding and China’s strength is increasing. This is thus a good opportunity for Pakistani exporters to promote quality products in China. In addition, Pakistan has the ability to export to the Chinese market rice and sea food, among other products. We are full of high expectations for the import expo, and so we will carefully prepare and actively participate.”
