Peru and Costa Rica look forward to China Int’l Import Expo Release date: 2018-05-27
Holding the China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a significant action of the Chinese government to firmly support trade liberalization and economic globalization while also actively opening its market to the world, which will help promote its economic and trade exchanges with other countries in the world, improve global trade and world economic growth, and advance the development of an open world economy. Many Latin American countries have showed great interest and anticipation in this regard.
Juan Varilias, President of the Peruvian Association of Exporters (ADEX), said he was looking forward to the first expo this November in Shanghai, and his country will bring its most attractive high-quality products. The expo is a very important opportunity for Peru to exhibit its superior-quality goods to greatly help a vast number of companies and people in China learn about Peru’s nutritious food.
Alexánder Mora, Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica, talked about his perspective and expectations for the expo. He considered the expo an important platform that would help enterprises all over the world conduct more extensive market assessments, investigations, and demonstrations as well as establish a better and more direct relationship with potential buyers and various supporting enterprises. This is exactly what Costa Rican companies wanting to enter China market have wished for.
“We expect wonderful and positive results from the expo. We are trying to promote even further to help our enterprises participate in the expo and seize opportunities. We hope to solidify the expo into an established international exhibition, and I'm very confident about that”, he said.
Beirute Pedro, CEO of the Export Promotion Agency of Costa Rica (PROCOMER), said in an interview that the expo is an opportunity to promote the development of global trade and Costa Rica is very enthused. “A decade ago, there were only 50 Costa Rican companies exporting to China. Today, there are over 120, driven by the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
The expo China is working on, can guarantee continued rapid development of economic and trade relations between China and Costa Rica, strongly promoting the expansion of bilateral trade relations.”
