'Export to China' UK Session highlights deeper China-UK cooperation Release date: 2026-07-03    Source:CGTN

The "Export to China" UK Session was held in London on Wednesday, bringing together more than 300 representatives from businesses, trade associations and government agencies from China and the UK to explore new opportunities for bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The event was co-organized by China's Ministry of Commerce and the UK's Department for Business and Trade. Chinese Ambassador to the UK Zheng Zeguang attended and delivered remarks.

Addressing the audience, Ambassador Zheng said China remains committed to high-quality development and high-standard opening-up, offering broad opportunities for businesses worldwide.

"With over 1.4 billion people and an ever-growing middle-income group, China has a super-sized market, which means unprecedented economic opportunities for other countries in the world," he said, encouraging UK businesses to expand trade and investment cooperation with China.

Zheng also highlighted the complementary nature of the two economies, noting that China is a major manufacturing powerhouse while the UK has strengths in services, providing a strong foundation for deeper economic and trade cooperation.

During the event, organizers also promoted the ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE), inviting UK companies to leverage the platform to expand access to the Chinese market.
