The opening ceremony for the CIIE Culture Exhibition Hall was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Oct 12.

Vice-Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping said at the ceremony that preparations for the fifth CIIE have entered the final stretch and urged organizers to keep up their efforts to make the fair a success.

With an exhibition area of about 1,600 square meters, the hall showcases the China International Import Expo's preparation process, highlights, achievements and far-reaching effect. It features more than 260 pictures, over 150 objects, five sand tables, and multiple interactive multimedia products.

People can make a reservation to visit the exhibition hall during the fifth CIIE which will take place from Nov 5 to 10.

The culture exhibition hall is an important part of the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the CIIE, said Gu Jun, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. The Shanghai city services team for the CIIE had participated in preparations for the hall and will continue making efforts to ensure the fifth expo's success, he added.
