Sotheby's online sales platform, Buy Now, will also be part of the exhibition and 15 premium handbags available on the platform will be displayed.
Sotheby's involvement in the CIIE demonstrates the company's commitment to its long-term development in China, said Jean Qian, managing director of Sotheby's China.
Qian also noted that China's culture collection sector is growing and full of promise. Sotheby's has been operating in the Chinese mainland for about 30 years and experienced the boom of China's collection industry. To provide the Chinese market with better products and services, the company will announce the establishment of its Chinese mainland headquarters in Shanghai during the fifth CIIE.
