Mayor of Shanghai Gong Zheng welcomed Marubeni Corporation, a Japanese integrated trading and investment company, to continue to participate in the China International Import Expo and seize the opportunities offered by the Chinese market during his meeting with Masumi Kakinoki, president of Marubeni Corporation, on April 18.

Gong expressed hope that Marubeni Corporation will continue to optimize its operations in Shanghai, as well as bring more international resources and innovative products to support the city's green and low-carbon transformation.

He also highlighted Shanghai's strong economic performance in the first quarter of this year, saying that this demonstrates its appeal as a top investment destination for foreign companies.

Kakinoki said that Marubeni's green strategy is well aligned with Shanghai's efforts to promote green and low-carbon development. 

He said he hopes that Marubeni can work together with local enterprises to explore the Chinese and global markets.

Marubeni Corporation is ranked 157th on the Fortune Global 500 list. The company’s China headquarters is located in Shanghai.
