GM to showcase more new products at 6th CIIE Release date: 2023-05-26    Source:Multiple

Chen Jining, Party secretary of Shanghai, said he is looking forward to General Motors (GM), a US automotive manufacturer, bringing more high-end products and cutting-edge technologies to the sixth China International Import Expo during his meeting with Mary Barra, chair and chief executive officer of GM, on May 24.

Chen noted that the automotive industry is one of the pillar industries in Shanghai. He welcomed GM to seize opportunities presented by the city's urban and industrial transformation and consumption upgrades, and further increase its investment in research and development in Shanghai. 

Barra said that GM will showcase more new brands, vehicle models, and technologies at the sixth CIIE, which will be held in Shanghai this November. She added that Shanghai plays a crucial role in GM's development in both the Chinese and global markets. 

According to her, the fruitful results achieved through cooperation with SAIC Motor, a Chinese car manufacturer headquartered in Shanghai, have further instilled confidence in the company's future development.
