More enterprises from Hong Kong are welcome to participate in the sixth China International Import Expo, which will be held this November in Shanghai.
This remark was made by Gong Zheng, mayor of Shanghai, during his meetings with Tan Siu-lin, founder and chairman of Luen Thai Group, and Choi Koon-shum, chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), Hong Kong, on June 2 and 3 respectively.
When meeting with Tan, Gong said that Shanghai remains one of the most favored investment destinations for foreign businesses and multinational companies.
He expressed hope that Luen Thai would optimize its business functions in Shanghai, deepen cooperation with Shanghai-based companies and play a greater role in promoting cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Tan said that the remarkable changes in Shanghai's economic and social development are inspiring.
The group has been confident about the city and will introduce more new products, services, and technologies into Shanghai and China and promote Chinese brands on the global stage, Tan added.
During the meeting with Choi, Gong expressed hope that the CGCC would serve as a bridge for Shanghai enterprises to expand globally and for Hong Kong companies to invest and develop in Shanghai.

According to Gong, Shanghai is committed to creating a world-class business environment that enables Hong Kong enterprises to achieve substantial growth in the city.
Choi said the chamber will deepen bilateral exchanges and achieve win-win cooperation between the two sides in fields like economy, technology, finance, talents, education, and culture.
The CGCC is one of the oldest and largest chambers of commerce in Hong Kong, while Luen Thai Group is a diversified multinational enterprise with investments and operations in various sectors such as retail, deep-sea fishing, tourism, clothing manufacturing, and real estate.
