Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao welcomed German multinational software company SAP to utilize trade fairs such as the China International Import Expo to tap the Chinese market during his meeting with Christian Klein, chief executive officer of the company, on July 11.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in discussions about promoting China-EU economic and trade cooperation, cross-border data flows, and the application of artificial intelligence technology.

Wang said that China is committed to further opening-up and building a market-oriented, law-based and international business environment.

He added that he welcomes SAP's continued expansion of its investment in China. He hopes that the company will leverage its technological advantages to become a trusted partner of more Chinese companies and help them achieve further development.

Klein said that SAP has been operating in the Chinese market for more than 30 years and has been committed to serving the digital transformation and sustainable development of Chinese businesses.

He said that the company will actively contribute to building a more resilient global supply chain and call for greater international cooperation to establish globally unified data security regulations.

Moving forward, the company will continue to increase its investment in research and development in China, and aim to provide Chinese enterprises with higher quality products and services, he added.
