More new healthcare solutions from BD expected at 6th CIIE Release date: 2023-07-20    Source:Multiple

Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng welcomed US medical technology company Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) to bring more new products, technologies and services to Shanghai and China through the sixth China International Import Expo during his meeting with Tom Polen, chairman, chief executive officer and president of BD, on July 18.                   

Gong said that biomedicine is a leading industry in Shanghai. He added that the favorable environment for biomedicine in Shanghai as well as the institutional innovations in the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone will create more investment, market and development opportunities for various enterprises including BD.

Polen said that BD has been impressed by Shanghai's superior environment, enormous development potential, and abundant talents over the past 30 years.

He added that the company will deepen its research and development and increase its investment in Shanghai to contribute to the city's efforts in becoming a highland for the pharmaceutical industry.

BD is presently one of the top three players in the global medical device industry and has the most extensive product lines. It has set up its Greater China headquarters as well as an innovation design center in Shanghai.
