More and more businesses from G20 countries are actively participating in the China International Import Expo in hopes of entering the Chinese market.
In the previous five editions of the CIIE, the total exhibition area of Indian exhibitors was nearly 3,000 square meters, in which products such as Indian wool carpet and handicrafts attracted the attention of many Chinese consumers.
In addition, over 100 Indonesian companies participated in the expo with an exhibition area of nearly 10,000 square meters. Their products such as coffee and palm oil won high praise. "Through this platform, we can bring more high-quality products and services to Chinese consumers," said Arsjad Rasjid, chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At the fifth CIIE, various South African specialty products such as wine, beef, mohair, coffee, honeybush tea, and canned abalone attracted the attention of many Chinese buyers, resulting in intended deals amounting to nearly $100 million.
The European Union and its member countries are also enthusiastic participants in the CIIE, with Germany and France having never missed any edition.
Cameron Johnson, a member of the board of governors at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, has stated that the CIIE is still attractive to US companies as an important channel to understand the Chinese market and showcase products and services.
The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) has been participating in the CIIE for several years, actively seeking cooperation opportunities with Chinese partners. China is Brazil's largest trading partner and a major source of investment. Deepening cooperation with China is crucial for Brazil's economic and social development, said Jorge Viana, the agency's former president.
