7th CIIE to see record participation Release date： 2024-10-25 Source：China International Import Expo Bureau
The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is set to take place from Nov 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), with an exhibition space exceeding 420,000 square meters and 152 participating countries, regions, and international organizations, said officials and experts at a press conference on Oct 23.
This year's Enterprise & Business Exhibition will once again cover over 360,000 square meters, with 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions participating, more than last year. The lineup features 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industrial leaders, the largest number yet, with 186 exhibitors and organizations returning for their seventh consecutive year at the CIIE.
In addition, the Enterprise & Business Exhibition will introduce a special section for new materials and expand its innovation incubation special section to support cutting-edge developments.
Since 2018, the CIIE has been an ideal platform for launching new products, and the 7th CIIE continues to welcome companies to do so. More than 400 new products, technologies and services are being displayed at the expo.
In total, 39 government trade missions and four industry trade missions, comprising 780 trade sub-missions, will attend the expo - more than ever before.
The Comprehensive Country Exhibition will continue to serve as a platform for nations to promote their national images and trade and investment strengths, with 77 countries and international organizations attending. Guest countries of honor include France, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, and Uzbekistan.
China's Pavilion will feature the theme "Advance Chinese Modernization and Jointly Pursue Global Development and Prosperity", displaying products aimed at new quality productive forces in fields like future networks, artificial intelligence, and new energy.
Additionally, the CIIE will support 37 least developed countries in participating in the expo and expand the African product zone.
Around 110 supporting events, including policy briefings and business matching events, will also be held at the 7th CIIE. The area for People-to-people Exchanges will span over 32,000 square meters, making it the largest to date.
The 2024 Hongqiao International Economic Forum, with the theme "High-Standard Opening-up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization", will feature a main forum and 19 sub-forums. It will focus on trending topics such as new energy storage and artificial intelligence. Nearly half of the forum guests will be from outside China, offering a global perspective on pressing issues. The forum will also see the release of the World Openness Report 2024 and the latest World Openness Index.
