Government work report highlights CIIE for 8 consecutive years Release date: 2025-03-19 Source:China International Import Expo Bureau
Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered a government work report at the opening meeting of the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on March 5. The report stated that "We will host major trade events to high standards, such as the China International Import Expo, the China Import and Export Fair, the China International Fair for Trade in Services, the Global Digital Trade Expo, and the China International Consumer Products Expo." As the world's first national-level expo focusing on imports, the CIIE has been featured in the annual Report on the Work of the Government every year since 2018, demonstrating its role as a symbol of China's new development approach, a platform for high-level openness and a global public good.

The CIIE has been held every year since its debut in 2018, with active participation from over 180 countries, regions, and international organizations. Foreign exhibitors have responded positively, noting that the CIIE has become an important platform for those looking to enter the Chinese market and has provided them with more business opportunities.

The 8th CIIE is set to take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from Nov 5 to 10. Preparations for the 8th CIIE are progressing steadily, with the booked exhibition area for the Business Exhibition already exceeding 220,000 square meters—more than 60 percent of the total planned area. This reflects strong confidence and enthusiasm from all parties in China's economy and the CIIE.
