Eighth CIIE to offer new opportunities for cooperation in Ireland’s aviation industry Release date: 2025-05-19 Source:China International Import Expo Bureau
On May 9, a business roundtable focusing on aircraft leasing was held in Dublin, Ireland, to promote the upcoming 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) and brought together representatives from companies such as Openjaw Ireland, AvAir, Avolon, ORIX Aviation, MSL Ireland, and Translation.ie, covering sectors like aircraft leasing, aviation maintenance, air finance, supply chain management, and technical services. Also present at the event were officials from the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Ireland and Bank of China (Europe) S.A. Dublin Branch.
Li Guoqing, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-EU diplomatic relations and Ireland has been a strong advocate for openness within the EU. As a global hub of aircraft leasing, Ireland has seen its companies achieve remarkable results in the Chinese market and the booming aviation industry in China welcomes further cooperation between the two countries. “We sincerely welcome more Irish aircraft leasing companies to participate in the CIIE to seek cooperation with Chinese partners and enhance their visibility in the Chinese market.”he said.
Chad Huang, president of the Ireland Chapter of the China Europe Business Association, introduced the dynamics of aircraft leasing and other related industries in Ireland and expressed the hope to have more cooperation and exchanges with Chinese partners, especially in the fields of sustainable aircraft fuel and low-altitude economy, by bringing relevant Irish companies to the CIIE and jointly promoting safe, efficient, and sustainable air transportation.
Participants from relevant enterprises had in-depth exchanges on China-EU cooperation in aircraft leasing, the potential of the Chinese market, and the opportunities that the CIIE may bring. They expected the CIIE to help them broaden cooperation channels in China, leverage China’s favorable policies, and contribute to long-term aviation cooperation between the two countries to achieve mutual benefits through shared resources.
The CIIE working team introduced preparations for the upcoming CIIE and shared stories of the success of Irish exhibitors at the expo. At the roundtable, AVICO Group signed a memorandum of cooperation with the CIIE Bureau to participate in the 8th CIIE.
The CIIE working team also signed a participation agreement with BOANN Distillery for participation in the 8th CIIE and and held in-depth discussions with Accenture and the Irish Horse Board on relevant topics.
The roundtable was hosted by the CIIE Bureau and the Ireland Chapter of the China Europe Business Association.
