A buyer recruitment roadshow for the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on July 9. The event saw 13 Fortune 500 companies and leading industrial players worldwide among 20 exhibitors including Nippon, Karcher, Signify, Ingersoll Rand, Brother, Standard Chartered Bank, DHL, MSC, UPS, Marubeni, Time and Tianoi (Shanghai) Exhibition Co Ltd, and EGO. Nearly 120 local buyers joined the event, establishing ties and laying foundation for future cooperation.

Zhang Weimin, assistant president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), said after seven years of dedicated cultivation, the CIIE has evolved into a vital platform facilitating mutual attraction and win-win cooperation between China and the world. Preparations for the eighth CIIE are steadily advancing. The Corporate Pavilion will further optimize its layout of exhibition zones and special sections, supporting the integration of technological innovation and industrial upgrading. In terms of investment promotion and trade facilitation, the expo will invite more industry-specific professional buyers to participate in procurement negotiations, deepen multi-scenario supply-demand matchmaking, enhance participants' sense of gain, and amplify the expo's spillover effects. Support will be provided for local authorities to host side events and people-to-people exchange activities. Activities themed on food, quality products and arts will also be organized during the expo.
Chen Zhicheng, deputy director-general of the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, said that Zhejiang trade missions will promote procurement matchmaking, organize side events, and deepen investment promotion efforts, contributing Zhejiang's strength to making the CIIE more successful.
Fang Kan, deputy general manager of Bank of China Zhejiang Branch, affirmed that the bank will continue to provide comprehensive, precise, and efficient financial services for exhibitors and buyers at the eighth CIIE.
Liu Guojuan, head of publicity of Qiantang district, emphasized plans to facilitate more enterprises from Qiantang to participate in the expo, fully leverage the platform advantages of the CIIE, and drive high-standard opening-up in Qiantang.

During the roadshow, the CIIE Bureau signed memorandums of cooperation with VIP buyers Zhejiang International Business Group Supply Chain Co Ltd, Zhejiang Cereals, Oils & Foodstuffs Import & Export Co Ltd, Intime Commercial Group, Hangzhou Qiyao New Materials Co Ltd, and Advanced Solar Power (Hangzhou).
After the event, representatives from the exhibitors visited Hangzhou Future Sci-tech City Planning Exhibition Hall to learn about the local business environment and innovation landscape.
The event was hosted by the CIIE Bureau, Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, and the NECC (Shanghai), organized by People's Government of Qiantang District and Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, with support from Bank of China Zhejiang Branch.
