A buyer recruitment roadshow for the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Xiongan New Area, Hebei province, on July 15. The event attracted 20 exhibitors, namely Siemens Healthineers, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, BD, GSK, Chiesi, Terumo, Nilfisk, Hartmetall Estech, Brother, Nippon, AsahiKASEI, Signify, Hougu, Deloitte, DHL, Yusen Logistics, EFC, On the Way and EGO. Nearly 110 local buyers joined the roadshow, establishing ties and laying foundation for future cooperation.

Song Shangzhe from the CIIE Bureau said that the eighth CIIE will be held during Nov 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) (Shanghai) and preparations have gone smoothly. For the Corporate Pavilion, the structure of the exhibition areas and special sections will be improved to encompass more themes and enriched content, and boost the integration between technological innovations and industrial upgrades. More professional buyers will be invited to participate in various matching sessions before and during the expo. Also, the CIIE Bureau has started to accept applications for side events. Over 20 parallel sessions and closed meetings will be organized during the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, focusing on topics such as revitalizing multilateral cooperation, empowering digital intelligence, green and sustainable development, and a more open China. Services during the expo will be innovated further. Activities themed on food, quality products, and arts will also be organized to highlight cultural charm and enhance the experience of visitors.

Cai Xiaojun, deputy director-general of Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce, said the Hebei trade mission will organize procurement activities with high quality, host side events at a high level, and launch supplier-buyer matchmaking events with high frequency.

Yu Guoyi, deputy director of the Management Committee of Xiongan New Area, said Xiongan New Area will use this roadshow as an opportunity to kick off CIIE activities and contribute Xiongan's strength to the expo's continuous improvement.

Su Tao, deputy general manager of Bank of China Hebei Branch, affirmed the bank will continue its in-depth participation in providing full-cycle services for the CIIE and promote buyer recruitment and cooperation both domestically and internationally.

During the event, the CIIE Bureau signed memorandums of cooperation with VIP buyers Xinsheng Tech, CCCC Xiongan Financial Leasing Co Ltd, China Xiongan Group Public Services Company, Hebei Logistics Industry Group, Fragrantses Grain&Oil (Qinhuangdao) Industrial Co Ltd, First Hospital of Qinhuangdao, North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital, and Hengshui Jimei Supermarket Co Ltd.

The event was hosted by the CIIE Bureau, Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce, Management Committee of Xiongan New Area, NECC (Shanghai), with support from Bank of China Hebei Xiongan Branch.

After the roadshow, representatives from the exhibitors visited Xiongan New Area Zhongguancun Science Park, Xiongan "Boot" Pilot Area Comprehensive Service Center, Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital, and Peking University People's Hospital Xiongan Wellness Center.
