A pre-expo supply-demand matchmaking meeting of the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province, on August 21. The event attracted 30 exhibitors including TAANE, BIOPTRON, JP ENTERPRISE LIMITED, Mitsubishi Electric, Nippon, Signify, Goodfarmer, Secco, La Encina, O:TU Wine, Borjomi, DHL, UPS and EGO. Over 100 local buyers joined the meeting, establishing ties and laying the foundation for future cooperation.

Song Shangzhe from the CIIE Bureau said that the eighth CIIE will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, alongside the Hongqiao International Economic Forum. Preparations are progressing orderly according to plan. The Corporate Pavilion will follow the concept of "Professional Delivery of a Comprehensive Exhibition", providing a platform for companies from various countries to showcase new products, technologies, and services. Efforts will be made to strengthen the organization of supply and demand matchmaking before and during the expo, fully leveraging the CIIE's function as an international procurement platform, and ensuring all preparatory work is carried out effectively. To meet the diverse needs of exhibitors, purchasers, and local trade missions, service measures will be continuously enriched and innovated to enhance the satisfaction and sense of fulfillment among participants. Activities themed on food, quality products, and arts will also be organized to enhance cultural exchanges during the expo, along with a new section of sister cities exhibition to promote exchanges and mutual learning among global civilizations.
Chen Wansheng, vice secretary-general of Qingdao Municipal Government, said that the Qingdao trade mission will organize a larger and higher-level procurement team to participate in the eighth CIIE.

During the event, the CIIE Bureau signed memorandums of cooperation with VIP buyers including Top Sunshine Group, Sino-German Ecopark Industrial Development Co Ltd, Qingdao Yuheng Electronic Equipment Co Ltd, Qingdao PAN-WIN IMP. & EXP. Co Ltd, Qingdao Linking Fresh Supplying Chain Co Ltd and Shandong Sino Building Material Group Co Ltd.
After the meeting, representatives of exhibitors visited China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area to explore the business environment.
