The Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection has introduced a series of measures to enhance support for the 8th China International Import Expo, which is set to take place in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.

These initiatives focus on expediting clearance, enhancing services, and improving safety. Their key points are as follows:

01 Opening expedited immigration channels

Dedicated channels for the 8th CIIE at Pudong and Hongqiao airports.

On-site processing of temporary entry permits in a "one-stop" manner for immediate clearance.

Enhanced on-site guidance to improve entry efficiency and smoothness.

02 Providing courtesy services for important guests

Tailored facilitation based on a "one group, one plan" approach.

Services include pre-arranged clearance, dedicated inspection zones, and group passage arrangements.

03 Optimizing clearance experience

Clear work assignments and improved inspection procedures.Innovative measures such as "personnel classification inspections, zoned guidance, and time-phased channel switching".

Promotion of "transit tourism" initiatives in collaboration with cultural and tourism departments.

04 Setting fast-track channels for exhibits

A "Transport-clearance-unloading-transit" green channel for timely exhibit delivery.

"Pre-arrival inspections" and "one-time processing" for international vessels carrying CIIE exhibits at seaports.

Priority handling for urgent cargo flights and streamlined procedures for international crew members at airports.

05 Offering real-time responsive services

A dedicated CIIE hotline on the 12367 service platform for inquiries on immigration policies.

A multilingual volunteer team providing assistance in English, French, Japanese, Korean, and more, available 24/7.

06 Upgrading immigration management package

Staff members stationed at the exhibition venue for policy guidance and consultations.

One-stop services for eligible foreign personnel, including residence permit issuance and expedited clearance information registration.

07 Ensuring safety, stability

Implementing rigorous security measures at ports to prevent cross-border crime and ensure the safety of Shanghai.

Utilizing the collaboration mechanism among immigration agencies in the Yangtze River Delta region to enhance information sharing, coordinated law enforcement and joint case investigations to create a secure setting for the CIIE.

08 Improving law enforcement

Strengthening the use of digital, intelligent inspection platforms.

Accelerating the implementation of innovative policing methods to enhance risk prevention and precise management capabilities.
