Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that the committee’s establishment is an important step for the CIIE to meet people's demands for a better life and serve national strategies.

Liu added that he hopes the committee members will offer advice and suggestions via the CIIE and contribute to the development of the medical equipment sector.

Deng Jianmin, general manager of BD Medical Greater China, said that the CIIE’s set-up of the special committee for medical equipment is of great significance and pledged that BD will fully leverage the platform to better serve the Chinese market.

He also called on all its members to actively take part in the committee’s work by relying on their respective strengths, explore opportunities in the open market and achieve win-win results.

Chen Jianzhong, vice president of Abbott, a vice chair of the committee, said that the CIIE’s strong spillover effect has generated more development opportunities for Abbott, adding that the company will use the special committee as a platform to bolster the development and innovation of the medical equipment industry and bring more cutting-edge technologies and innovations to China.
