The food and agricultural products exhibition area of the fifth China International Import Expo, which will take place in November in Shanghai, is planned to occupy 90,000 square meters, said a CIIE Bureau official at an online promotional event for the exhibition area on April 26.
Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, added the exhibition area this year will be focused on sustainability, health, innovation and development. He also noted that the exhibition area usually sees the most exhibitors, deals, and sideline events among the six sections in the business exhibition of the CIIE.
An activity regarding the interpretation of policies related to food imports was held at the same time. Song Zhe, deputy chief of the department of imported food safety of Shanghai Customs, expounded on topics regarding the declaration, inspection, and clearance of CIIE exhibits, and several pertinent favorable measures.
Head of the China Customs Brokers Association (CCBA) Zhu Gaozhang said the organization will fully leverage its strengths to invite member companies and partners to participate in the CIIE and grasp opportunities arising from China's rapid economic recovery and opening-up.
Zhang Peng, secretary general of the CCBA, said the association will enhance cooperation with the CIIE Bureau in organizing events, attracting professional visitors, and providing customs clearance consulting services.
More than 200 food producers, purchasers and traders, such as Hershey's, Le Cake, Optima Integration Group, and Lee Kum Kee, attended the promotional event.
