Fifth CIIE holds matchmaking session for food, medical exhibitors Release date： 2022-09-01 Source：China International Import Expo Bureau

A matchmaking session for the fifth China International Import Expo took place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Aug 30.
About 40 exhibitors from the food and agricultural products exhibition area, including Mondelez International, Goodfarmer Fresh Fruit Trading Corp, and Hoeslandt, as well as more than 30 exhibitors from the medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition area, including Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, and Roche Diagnostics, participated in the activity.
Nearly 200 purchasers related to the two industries, including China Resources Co, China Merchants Group, and China National Pharmaceutical Group Co, were also in attendance.

Exhibitors showcased products such as Filipino pineapples, Ecuadoran organic bananas, milk powder, surgical robots, genome sequencing machines, and wireless hearing aids during the session.
Jiang Lei, president of International Food Corporation China, said his company will debut four new products and display those developed exclusively for Chinese customers at the fifth CIIE. The company, which will be attending this year's expo for the fifth consecutive time, will sign up for the sixth edition, Jiang added. He also noted that the company has through the CIIE forged partnerships with companies from China and around the world.
Wu Xiulan, vice-president of Boston Scientific China, said the company will expand its booth and exhibit a series of innovative products at the fifth expo to further benefit Chinese patients.
Jin Guangyu, director of Asset Regulation at the Shanghai Hospital Development Center, said that the large medical equipment that Shanghai's municipal-level hospitals had purchased at the first four CIIEs has played an important role in enhancing their clinical treatments. The center plans to invest in more cutting-edge equipment at the fifth CIIE, Jin added.

The CIIE organizers will continue to facilitate communication and cooperation between exhibitors and purchasers, and improve services for both parties, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE, at the event.
Deputy Head of the Shanghai branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Wang Shun said the bank will form an industry trade mission, hold a sub-forum of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, which is an important part of the CIIE, and provide better financial solutions for the expo this year.
