CIIE a window of openness and cooperation Release date: 2024-01-02    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

Since its inception in 2018, the China International Import Expo has showcased the nation's firm commitment to supporting trade liberalization and its opening-up to the rest of the world, becoming a window of China's working together with all parties to create a better future.

As the world's first national-level exhibition with imports as its theme, the CIIE has provided a fast lane for global commodities and services to enter the Chinese market.

By organizing country exhibitions and cultural exchanges, the expo builds bridges to promote mutual understanding and trust among people from various countries, and provides important opportunities for various audiences to appreciate Chinese and foreign culture, art, history, and enhance mutual understanding.

The country exhibitions of the six editions of CIIE have attracted participation from 142 countries and international organizations, creating a rich and exciting platform for showcasing advantageous products and conducting trade and investment promotion activities.

Over the past six years, companies from 173 countries and regions have made stunning appearances in the CIIE, with a cumulative of tentative transaction worth $424.23 billion, showcasing over 2,400 signature new products, technologies and services. The CIIE, like a huge magnet, has attracted high-quality products, advanced technologies, and high-end services.

Products such as handmade carpets from Afghanistan and "sugar bread" pineapples from Benin have greatly enriched the shopping carts of Chinese consumers, helping meet their growing needs for a better life. At the same time, the CIIE also provides more opportunities and resources for industrial upgrading.

The CIIE is by no means a one-way street for global enterprises to enter the Chinese market. Many foreign executives have said that the CIIE provides them with a new channel for two-way communication and mutually beneficial development with the Chinese market.

By organizing a series of high-level government-enterprise dialogues and industry exchanges during and outside the exhibition period, the CIIE has not only built an excellent platform for foreign enterprises to fully understand China's industrial policies and local development opportunities but also brought desired guests to relevant industries and regions. The CIIE as a "golden channel" for economic and trade cooperation is continuously increasing. Enterprises of different scales and with different demands can all find excellent cooperation opportunities through the CIIE.

The Hongqiao International Economic Forum, an important part of the CIIE, constantly sends a message of openness. Political figures, entrepreneurs, scholars, and other professionals from various countries jointly discuss global economic governance, trade and investment, technological innovation and other topics, contributing wisdom and strength to solving the problems facing the global economy and promoting its steady recovery.
