Roadshow promotes innovation incubation special section for 7th CIIE Release date: 2024-07-29    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

A roadshow promoting the innovation incubation special section at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on July 25. Nearly 20 venture capital funds participated in the event.

At the event, a signing ceremony took place where more than 30 companies committed to participating in the 8th CIIE, reserving a combined exhibition area surpassing 20,000 square meters.

Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that this year's expo is approaching its less than 100-day sprint phase, with its booked exhibition space surpassing 360,000 square meters.

Sun added that the exhibition scale of this year's innovation incubation special section has surpassed the overall level from the previous year. He highlighted that, this year, the section will focus on the digital economy, green and low-carbon initiatives, life sciences, and manufacturing technology.

Zhai Jinguo, deputy director of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (STCSM) expressed appreciation that the CIIE has become the global launch platform for new products, the preferred destination for cutting-edge technology, and the premier hub for innovative services over the years.

Referring to the innovation incubation special section in the 7th CIIE, Zhai said it will provide a pathway for overseas startups and entrepreneurial projects to operate in Shanghai.

Additionally, representatives from a number of startup companies, including Link Li, senior account manager of Protopie in the Asia-Pacific area, Steven Zhang, founder of Kivisense SARL, and Yi Guanxi, chief executive officer of Laplace AI, conducted on-site project roadshows during the event.
