HQF Hosts Intelligent Technology Field Visit in Beijing Release date: 2025-06-13    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

On 12 June, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum (HQF) organised a field visit focused on intelligent technology for its members and partners in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA).

The HQF Secretariat hosted the event with support from the Administrative Committee of the BDA. Mr Song Shangzhe from the HQF Secretariat delivered opening remarks, while Mr Liang Liang, Deputy Director of the BDA, introduced the area’s investment promotion policies. Mr Guo Jia, Head of Research Management at China’s National and Local Co-built Embodied Artificial Intelligence Robotics Innovation Centre, gave a keynote lecture.

Event highlights

Focusing on the convergence of artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, and robotics, Mr Guo emphasised that embodied intelligent robots are entering a critical stage of development under the guidance of national strategies and policy support. He noted that the Innovation Centre, as a national-level platform, has made significant progress in product development, technology transformation, and practical implementation. The Centre is accelerating the construction of a full-stack technology system, strengthening foundational technologies and sector-wide service capabilities, and driving large-scale, high-value deployment in real-world application scenarios.

Field visit by HQF members and partners

After the keynote, participants visited the National and Local Co-built Embodied Intelligent Robot Innovation Centre, the World of Robots Exhibition Centre, and the Xiaomi Auto Super Factory. During the visits, attendees actively engaged in discussion, noting that the event served as a high-quality platform for information exchange and cooperation. They described the content as pragmatic and effective, deepening their understanding of cutting-edge intelligent technologies and paving the way for future collaboration.

Approximately 50 representatives from HQF member enterprises, think tanks, media outlets, and other partner organisations attended the event.
