HQF Preview | Release of the Export-to-China Capacity Development Report at the 9th HongQiao Forum Release date: 2026-10-29

The Release of the Export-to-China Capacity Development Report of the 9th HQF will be held on the afternoon of November 5, 2026, in Meeting Room A002 of Building A, National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Representatives from government, business and academia at home and abroad will gather here to discuss where the opportunities lie and how to build the capacity to seize them.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed that "China's initiative to expand imports is not a makeshift move, but a long-term consideration for embracing the world, for the future and for common development." Chinese Premier Li Qiang has stressed that China will uphold "shared benefits with the world." One year ago, Premier Li Qiang announced the launch of the "Big Market for All: Export to China" series of events. Over the past year, with the support of all parties, "Export to China" has become a shining example of China's efforts to expand high-standard opening up and proactively share the opportunities of its vast market with the world. On the occasion of this first anniversary, the session will officially launch the Export-to-China Capacity Development Report, which, together with the World Openness Report 2026, will form the "twin flagship" reports of the HongQiao Forum.

The Export-to-China Capacity Development Report will focus on import structure, trading entities, market demand and policy systems to provide an all-round interpretation of the opportunities in China's vast market. For a number of trading partners, it will also examine their export structure and the fit between their products and the Chinese market, put forward recommendations for cultivating their export-to-China capacity, and help unlock their potential to export to China.

The conference will feature remarks by distinguished guests, a keynote speech marking the first anniversary of "Export to China", and the introduction and official release of the  Export-to-China Capacity Development Report.

Confirmed guests (listed in alphabetical order by name):

Liao Fan, Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

Luz María de la Mora, Director of the Division on International Trade and Commodities, UNCTAD; former Undersecretary of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy of Mexico

More distinguished speakers are being confirmed.
