CEO of Rio Tinto to attend 6th CIIE Release date: 2023-03-06    Source:China International Import Expo Bureau

Jakob Stausholm, chief executive officer of Rio Tinto, which is a world leading mining corporation, will attend the sixth China International Import Expo this November with the company's senior management team. 

The CIIE is an important platform that allows enterprises to communicate with customers and partners, said Stausholm. He added that the company will continue to provide China with high-quality products and solutions, and hopes to help boost the high-quality and sustainable development of the nation.

The CEO also noted that this year is the 150th anniversary of the founding of Rio Tinto, the 50th anniversary of its first shipment of iron ore to China, as well as the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Rio Tinto's first representative office in China.

Since the inaugural edition of the CIIE in 2018, Rio Tinto has been an active participant in each expo and reached cooperation intentions with many Chinese partners and continued to expand and deepen its cooperation with China.

In 2022, Rio Tinto became a diamond member company of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, an important part of the CIIE. 

The fifth CIIE in 2022 was the first time Rio Tinto participated in the expo as an exhibitor. That year, the company showcased more than 10 kinds of metallic minerals and green innovation applications. Stausholm also attended a sub-forum of the Hongqiao forum and delivered a speech online. 

Rio Tinto has a presence in 35 countries and regions and was ranked 201st in the list of 2022 Fortune Global 500 companies.
