Costa Rica will participate in the online country exhibition of the fifth China International Import Expo.

In a video address, Manuel Tovar Rivera, Costa Rica's minister of foreign trade, said his country recognizes the CIIE as an exceptional platform to showcase its goods.

He added that Costa Rica is determined to seek out more market access opportunities in China and facilitate trade between the two nations.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Costa Rica. The two countries have forged close economic and trade relations. China is presently the second largest trading partner of Costa Rica, and many products from the latter, including coffee and dairy products, have proved popular among Chinese customers.

The online country exhibition of the fifth CIIE will begin a trial run in mid-October.
