Austria will attend the online country exhibition of the fifth China International Import Expo to showcase its food, tourist attractions, leading companies, and achievements in mobility.

According to a video address given by Martin Kocher, Austrian federal minister of labor and economy, and Michael Otter, director general of Advantage Austria, which is the trade promotion organization of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the fifth CIIE will bring new business opportunities to Austria.

The two officials also noted that there are more than 1,000 Austrian companies in China that have a few hundred thousand employees.

China is Austria's most important trading partner in Asia and its second largest source of imports. In 2021, Austrian exports to China reached a record high of 5 billion euros ($4.83 billion) and Austria aims to export more to China this year, Kocher and Otter added.
