Central and Eastern European country Croatia will participate in the online country exhibition of the fifth China International Import Expo to showcase its tourist attractions, culture and arts, as well as its green practices.

Nikolina Brnjac, Croatian tourism minister, expressed hopes in her video address that the exhibition can help Chinese people learn more about Croatia and connect the two countries even closer.

She also noted that the Peljesac Bridge, which was constructed by a Chinese company and opened to traffic a few months ago, is a historic infrastructure project in Croatia. The bridge has further consolidated cooperation and friendship between China and Croatia.

The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia. China announced in 2021 that it plans to import $170 billion worth of goods from Central and Eastern European countries in the following five years through platforms like the CIIE and China-CEEC Expo.
