The Netherlands will attend the country exhibition of the fifth China International Import Expo to showcase its investment environment, technological innovations, green efforts and its people's healthy lifestyles.

Since the European country established diplomatic relations with China 50 years ago, the two sides have conducted extensive cooperation in many sectors. China is currently the Netherlands' largest trading partner outside the European Union, while the latter is second largest trading partner of China in the EU.

Wim Geerts, ambassador of the Netherlands to China, said his country values free trade and sustainable development. He hopes that trade between the two countries will continue to grow.

There are more than 720 Chinese companies in the Netherlands, the ambassador noted.
