Media Snapshot of CIIE丨CIIE promotes upcoming 9th edition in Sydney Release date: 2026-02-28 Source:CGTN
The upcoming China International Import Expo, or CIIE, kicked off its promotional event this Thursday in Sydney, bringing together government entities, companies, and industry associations from Australia. This year marks the ninth edition of the world's first national-level import expo, which has facilitated over 580 billion U.S. dollars in intended dealmaking across its first eight years. The CIIE will run from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
ANNA FEDELES General Manager International Operations Trade and Investment Queensland "CIIE is a great opportunity to enter the Chinese market. Trade and Investment Queensland see it as a platform to help companies to understand what Chinese consumers are looking for. So it's a great chance to meet both with people you've worked with before, but also for new companies to come and try out and understand what Chinese consumers are looking for."
DALE WILLIAMS Founder & Chief Distiller Tasmanian Spirits Pty Ltd "Well, the size of the Expo is just phenomenal, as they said there's nothing else like it in the world, and for a country to hold an Expo for imports and not an expo for their exports is just an amazing invitation and opening for a country to invite people in to do that so the Chinese market is very important to us."
SUSAN KAHWATI Head of Green Economy and Agrifood Australian Trade and Investment Commission "And as we've seen the presence of Australian businesses translates into real business outcomes. So it's an important show to form those connections and help sign those deals which is the main objective of the exercise. So we have great expectations for our upcoming 9th CIIE and Australia and the Australian Government is fully committed to supporting an even stronger and more impactful presence at the show. So we hope to build on our successes."
