The China International Import Expo (CIIE) bureau has extended an invite to organizers to host supporting activities, such as those involving an explanation of policies, project matchmaking, launch events of new products, investment promotions, cultural exchange and release of research reports, during the expo this November.

All participants of this year's expo can bid for supporting activities. They include members of the organizing committee, international organizations, participating countries (or regions) in the Country Exhibition, exhibition organizers, exhibitors, provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, municipalities with independent planning status, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, buyers, partners of buyer invitation & exhibitor recruitment, supporting units of the CIIE, and the mainstream media.

More than 100 activities involving policy explanation, project matchmaking, investment promotion and release of research reports were held at last year's CIIE.

Influential organizations like the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the UN International Trade Center, and the World Intellectual Property Organization hosted high-end forums at the 3rd CIIE.

The ministries of finance, industry and information technology, commerce, and the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Medical Products Administration also held meetings to explain relevant policies.

More than a dozen provincial-level regions, including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Tibet, Gansu staged signing ceremonies, trade promotion, and road shows during the 3rd CIIE.

State-owned enterprises, exhibitors and partners of exhibition and business invitation also organized activities.

In addition, the CIIE Bureau and the Bank of China hosted conference to promote trade and investment last year, attracting 674 exhibitors and 1,351 buyers. A total of 861 letters of intent were signed.

Ten offline investment promotional events were held, facilitating the cooperation between foreign investors and domestic governments and companies. Twenty-six industrial parks, large enterprise and foreign trade organizations from Hungary, Thailand, Cambodia, Serbia, Mexico, Argentina, Zambia and China's Jiangsu and Sichuan provinces released their promo videos at the 3rd CIIE.
